Reforestation

A natural way to capture carbon and regenerate nature is to replant trees in deforested or depleted areas. It is essential to preserve biodiversity, combat climate change, prevent soil erosion, and enhance air and water quality. Reforestation also offers economic opportunities and social benefits while ensuring the sustainable management of natural resources.

Across Nature exclusively partners with high-impact reforestation projects that remove carbon, generate value for local communities and pave the way for a sustainable future. By investing in reforestation projects or purchasing carbon credits, you reduce your carbon footprint and ensure the continuity of these impactful initiatives.

Reforestation projects

We are engaged in two certified reforestation projects that contribute beyond mitigating emissions. Both projects also align with the Sustainable Development Goals and the three pillars of sustainability: People, Planet, and Profit. Nicaforest and Norteak are driving forces for sustainable forestry, sharing the mission of creating an ecosystem that thrives and providing value for the local community through job opportunities and education.

Nicaragua

Across Nature is engaged in two reforestation projects in Nicaragua. A land nestled in the heart of Central America, known for its vibrant culture, rich nature, and warm hospitality. It is home to 6 million people and a great variety of plants and animals. Featuring a biodiversity that includes 248 amphibians and reptiles, 183 mammal species, 705 bird species, and 5,796 plant species. Nicaragua's jungles cover 9,700 square kilometers (2.4 million acres) of land, with about 17% of the country's total landmass designated as protected land.

Despite being the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, Nicaragua is leading an inspiring reforestation and environmental restoration journey. Through community engagement and sustainable practices, Nicaragua is revitalizing landscapes and habitats, ensuring the survival of countless plant and animal species.

These efforts not only mitigate climate change impacts but also uplift communities by providing opportunities for sustainable livelihoods. Nicaragua exemplifies resilience and determination, turning challenges into opportunities and showcasing the transformative power of collective action for a brighter future.
